An app for saving lives

An app to save lives: 1 in 4 deaths is linked to thrombosis.

On July 24th, we launched the app for the national clinical registry of Venous Thromboembolic Disease (VTE), developed in partnership with ICHT and led by Dr. Cecilia Carrizo.

More than a decade ago, we chose to focus on Health & Pharma. This allowed us to meet top-level doctors and scientists, not for health-related issues, but to create technology that improves people's lives.

With VTE, we decided to go beyond simply "turning an Excel spreadsheet into an app." We designed a modern, secure, and user-friendly platform, conceived to transform clinical data into actionable information: anticipating risks, preventing events, and ultimately, saving lives. In addition to the registry, it includes updated clinical guidelines and international standards.

Aiming high requires effort… and a plan to secure funding for development. We proposed a prototype plus a sponsorship scheme with scientific value for sponsors. Dr. Carrizo didn't give up: every "no" was feedback. We adjusted the plan, strengthened our arguments, and kept knocking on doors. That's how Adium Uruguay came on board as Main Sponsor, and then Gador Uruguay as Gold Sponsor, in addition to institutions like Sanatorio Americano and Hospital Maciel. With that support, the development train picked up speed.

Today the system is in production. Doctors can register for free and start uploading their patients' events. At the end of each year, each center will receive its own reports to identify patterns and strengthen preventative policies.
