Tiktok's new "Dislike" button
A new button for avoiding toxic comments hits the platform.
After months of testing, the platform confirmed this experiment works and is ready for a global launch.
The new feature will be a tool for identifying inappropriate and irrelevant comments.
The social media announced on their official Twitter account they'll release a new tool for its users: a "Dislike" button.
Although complimentary to its "Like" button, "Dislike" reactions will not be public. Only the user making the reaction will be able to see it, not even the author of the comment or anyone else will be notified about it in any way.
To undo one of these reactions, users can press the button again in the comment section.
Though it's currently only available for users in the United States and the United Kingdom, Tiktok doesn't rule out the possiblity of Latin American users getting this update in the future.
